New York, NY, May 7, 2013—Rock icons Duran Duran, the legendary Dame Shirley Bassey, British pop darling Ellie Goulding, and pop hit makers Hot Chelle Rae will perform at the 20th edition of amfAR’s world-renowned Cinema Against AIDS event, to be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, during the Cannes International Film Festival.

Duran Duran, who have sold more than 100 million records throughout their storied career, will treat guests at Cinema Against AIDS to their only public performance of 2013. Dame Shirley Bassey, fresh off of a show-stopping performance at this year’s 85th Academy Awards, will make a special appearance at Cinema Against AIDS to sing a number of her much loved and celebrated songs. Ellie Goulding, one of the UK’s most exciting singer-songwriters, will inject her exuberant energy into the evening. And rounding out the line-up will be American Music Awards winner Hot Chelle Rae, whose just released single “Hung Up” follows their mega-smash hits “Tonight, Tonight” and “I Like it Like That,” which together have sold more than 6 million copies.

In addition to these electrifying musical performances, the event will include a parade of celebrities participating in the evening’s live auction, as well as a “The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show,” curated by Carine Roitfeld. Forty top models will participate in the spectacular runway presentation of one-of-a-kind gold looks, which will also feature a range of gold jewelry from emerging and established designers.

Participating designers include Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Roberto Cavalli, Kenneth Cole, Comme des Garçons, Christian Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Givenchy, Michael Kors, Lanvin, Ralph Lauren, Marchesa, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Pucci, Tarun Tahiliani, Valentino, Versace, Louis Vuitton, and Alexander Wang, among many others. Nick Rhodes Makes His Directorial Debut for TV Mania Single “Beautiful Clothes.” Music Video Premieres Today on Yahoo Music in the US, GQ in the UK, and Vogue Italia, who also have an exclusive interview with Nick Rhodes

New York, NY – April 30, 2013 – Duran Duran founding member and keyboardist Nick Rhodes has made his music video directorial debut with the song “Beautiful Clothes” from his TV Mania album Bored With Prozac and The Internet?. Watch the video, featuring model Chloe Lloyd, on GQ in the UK, Yahoo Music in the US, and Vogue Italia in Italy, where they are also featuring an exclusive interview with Nick Rhodes, all live today!

The album was released on March 12th this year after being discovered deep within the Duran Duran vaults. Originally created as the soundtrack to a bizarre Broadway musical, the songs on the album were composed using looping rhythm tracks and samples from various TV Shows. Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo (former Duran guitarist) created the collection after discovering a shared idea of a futuristic society where voyeurism was woven into the cultural fabric and people lived with little privacy. While this resonates with the present day, the album was created back in the mid-90s, two years before the movie, The Truman Show was released and four years before Survivor made its debut.

The duo recently hosted a competition with Lomography cameras that was inspired by the themes of the album. Participants submitted photos of what “Beautiful Clothes” meant to them for a chance to win special prizes. PRESS HERE to see the winning selections.
